The Predictive Dialer is a method of computerized automated calling system that dials random telephone numbers for call center agents, which is widely used in call centers in telemarketing and sales promotion. These agents who use the Predictive Dialer system are usually assigned to a particular company’s sales or marketing campaign division to promote certain products and/or services. A Predictive Dialer is called as such for it uses a complex software algorithm to make random outbound calls and detect the methods of how these calls are being answered on the other end of the line. The Predictive Dialer software would then automatically reject from its list of dialed telephone numbers the unanswered calls, answering machines, disconnected lines, fax machines, and diverted or forwarded calls.
