As you can see at the SDK and softphone pricing sections, our software is mainly licensed per server. The Basic license allows the usage with one single server and the Advanced license allows up to 4 servers.
However we also have a Gold license which is much more flexible regarding the licensing.
If you don't have your own limited number of SIP servers or if you are developing an app, which you wish to provide/sell to others with freely configurable SIP server address, then most probably you should opt for a Gold license.
We still prefer to add some license protection, for example to lock the usage to your app package name, allowing the usage with any SIP server.
This is only to "lock" the license to your own usage (without to restrict your use-case in any way) and to prevent turning it into a free-for-all solution if the SDK/library leaks out from your hand or if somebody will extract it from your app.
For maximum flexibility, we implemented also other licensing methods if somehow the app based licensing is not suitable for any reason.
Here are the possible methods for the Gold license:
- main class name, package name or executable name (applicable for the Java SE/JVoIP library, allowing the usage with any/unlimited SIP server; available only to new customers since September, 2024)
- app package name (applicable for the AJVoIP library, allowing the usage with any/unlimited SIP server)
- 10 separate VoIP servers owned/controlled by you (10 different IP and/or domain)
- a whole subnet/24 (255 address) of SIP servers
- a wildcard domain for the SIP servers (allowing unlimited usage by creating as many subdomains as you wish)
- server type (binding the license to your SIP server User-Agent/Server SIP header, thus it can be used with unlimited servers with this option)
- binding the license to the machine where your app will run (useful if you run it only on one or a few hosts)
- license key only (only if somehow none of the other options are suitable)
- or another licensing based on our agreement
Contact us about the possibilities or if you are in doubt. We are open also for other solutions. The most important thing is that we would like to avoid unauthorized usage by publishing a license, which potentially can be downloaded or extracted from your software and freely used elsewhere.
