Hey folks, I’ve been trying to find a reliable way to control my LG smart TV using my iPhone. I travel a lot for work and often forget the remote somewhere (my kid sometimes hides it too, haha). I downloaded a few apps, but either they’re full of ads or just super laggy and frustrating to use. Has anyone found something that actually works well and doesn't feel like a scam? Ideally something simple, nothing overly fancy or complicated.

I had the exact same struggle, especially after losing my remote for the third time in one month. I tried a bunch of apps too and most of them were either cluttered with ads or just didn’t recognize my TV at all. What finally worked for me is this one app I found on Eltima’s site – it’s called Remote Control for Mac but it works perfectly for managing your TV from your iPhone too, depending on your setup. Here's the link if you wanna check it out: TV Remote App for iPhone

What I love about it is that it doesn’t just control volume or channels – you can literally browse apps like Netflix or YouTube on your TV using your phone as a trackpad or keyboard. It’s super handy when you're too lazy to type with the remote. Setup was pretty easy too – just made sure both devices were on the same Wi-Fi and boom, it paired right away. The interface is clean, no BS pop-ups, and it hasn't crashed once in three weeks of daily use. Highly recommend giving it a shot, especially if you're dealing with multiple TVs at home.

Some apps work better with specific brands. Always helps to test a few and stick with the one that feels the most intuitive. Using your iPhone like a touchpad is actually kinda fun once you get used to it!
