Use of the Contact header as Caller-ID
Hi,
It seems like the app uses the value of the Contact header as the Caller ID for incoming calls. I don't think this is correct. The Contact header usually contains an address of a specific UA, not the AOR. It tells you _where_ the caller is, not _who_ he is.
Is it something that can be looked at? Surprisingly it's very hard to find a usable and actively maintained SIP client for Android. MizuDriod looks very promising but little things like this one make it a lot less usable.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Use of the Contact header as Caller-ID
The MizuDroid should set the Caller ID also in the "From" header.
Yes, the softphone might use the Caller ID also in the Contact, but I don't see what is the problem with that (regardless of this, the network address should be set correctly).
The only problem is that in the contact header your server doesn't accept the "Caller ID" only the "username"?
Can you upload a log about this?

Re: Use of the Contact header as Caller-ID
I will upload the logs when I have time (need to set up a special account for this as the logs will include my password).
However, I really can't think of any circumstances where using Contact header as the caller id would make sense.

Re: Use of the Contact header as Caller-ID
We can change this after your needs for sure, but we should see a log to make sure that we are doing the correct thing.
If possible, please send a log also from another (good working) third-party softphone (the softphone logs itself which contains also the signaling or a wireshark log).
Please send this by email to info@mizu-voip.com
Thank You.

Re: Use of the Contact header as Caller-ID
I've emailed the logs, please have a look.
During the testing I have found 2 more issues:
1. When registerting using TLS the client drops the TCP connection to the registrar pretty quickly. After that receiving calls becomes impossible. The connection should remain open for as long as the registration is valid.
2. When calling another sip addresses in other domains, the outbound request contains the From address in the format of
@
which is incorrect. It should be
@
.
Is there any chance you could take a look at these as well?
Many thanks.

Re: Use of the Contact header as Caller-ID
Sorry the formatting removed part of the address. What I meant was if I call from user1@domain1 to user2@domain2, the softphone puts 'user1@domain2' in the From header.
