MizuDroid version 2.3.0
Android version 6.0.1

  • Installed it, configured it to work with my VOIP provider, and was able to place a call.
  • Tap Android's "Back" icon on phone.
  • MizuDroid's displays a dialog-box offering two options: "Run in background" and "Exit".
  • Tap "Exit". MizuDroid disappears.
  • Tap Android's "Recent Apps" button. MizuDroid is displayed in the list and its dialog-box is still open. It never exited.
If I repeat the experiment and tap the "Run in background" button, it behaves the same way as "Exit". In other words, there is no difference between tapping either button.

The only way to close MizuDroid is to display it in the "Recent Apps" list and swipe right or left to remove it from the list.

I believe this is a bug.

After spending more time with MizuDroid, I think I understand why both options produce the same result. In "Settings", "Run in background" is enabled. Enabling background mode may explain why tapping the "Exit" button produces the same result as tapping the "Run in background" button.

However, it does not explain the following behavior:
  • In "Settings" I disabled "Run in background".
  • Tap Android's "Back" icon on phone.
  • MizuDroid displays a dialog-box asking "Are you sure you want to close MizuDroid?" and the options are "Cancel" and "Exit".
  • Tapping either button produces the same result: MizuDroid appears in the "Recents" list and has not exited (not shutdown and removed from memory).
I don't understand the designer's intentions for the "Exit" button. Regardless of mode or which button is tapped, MizuDroid appears to behave the same way (it never truly exits).

Yes, you are right, this is not logical. We are going to review and it will be improved in the upcoming new version.
